04 Let an agent do the infrastructure, and read every step
Moving gantry.world to new hosting in one sitting.
Domain settings are the kind of work I used to put off: easy to get wrong, dull to get right. This time an agent did it while I watched.
It installed my new host's command-line tool, added the domain, uploaded the site while keeping my private working files out, pointed gantry.world and www at it, switched on HTTPS, and set up email forwarding for hello@gantry.world. My part was two approvals in the browser and one change where the domain is registered: pointing it at the new host.
Two things I'd tell anyone doing the same:
- Check what's already there first. My domain only had a parking page and no email records, so nothing could break. If yours has email, copy those records over before you switch.
- Read every step. The agent showed each command and its result, and it checked that the private files returned "not found" before it called the job done.
